Christian Podcasts have helped shape my desire to know God in more ways than one. I find it refreshing to hear conversations and encouragement from others who are living their life with the aims to glorify God.
They are convenient ways to hear biblical exhortation and biblical wisdom amidst day-to-day life.
As the Christian Podcast host of Unaltered Grace Christian Podcast, I greatly appreciate the behind-the-scenes work of all that goes into creating a podcast.
So, here are a few of my personal favorites, and ones that I fully and confidently recommend to you.
In no particular order, here’s the Christian Podcasts you should listen to in 2019, and their own corresponding iTunes descriptions:
“The Christian faith is not mindless or irrational. Knowing Faith is a podcast exploring how our faith is founded upon Scripture. We believe the Bible is for everyone and are committed to helping the Church understand where their faith is rooted. Hosted by Jen Wilkin, JT English and Kyle Worley, this podcast dives into Christian story, belief and practice in a way that that is accessible to everyone.”
“Nancy Guthrie talks to some of the best teachers and preachers of our day to equip all kinds of Bible teachers to creatively teach through specific books of the Bible.”
“Life’s a journey we were never meant to walk alone. We all need friends along the way! On the Journeywomen podcast we’ll chat with Christian leaders about gracefully navigating the seasons and challenges we face on our journeys to glorify God.”
4. In The Midst
“Do you find it difficult to spend time with God due to the fullness of your schedule? In The Midst, with Brooke Lee, was created to help you encounter God right in the midst of your day. Whether you're folding laundry, commuting to work, picking up cheerios off the floor, exercising at the gym, or going for a walk, this podcast will help you experience, see, and engage with God right in the midst of it all. And this isn't your typical podcast. Think: a little more devotional, and a little less podcast. So, pull up a seat, or grab those shirts to fold, or keep your eyes on the road and experience the presence of God with you in the midst. This podcast is created by GLAM Ministries Inc.; a non-profit women's organization that creates tools and resources to help draw women into deeper intimacy with Jesus and break through spiritual barriers. “Life can often feel as though God's still small voice is too small or too distant to hear, but He is always working in the hearts of His children. The Heart Lessons Podcast features conversations centered on how God moves in the hearts of His beloved daughters to help us best navigate the unique stories He has written for each one of us. Real women. Real stories. Real faith.”
“Whether you have a dream in your heart or aren’t sure what God might be calling you to, The Devoted Dreamers Podcast will encourage you on the journey. This space is dedicated to sharing stories every week of women who are following Jesus and pursuing their God-given gifts in beautifully imperfect ways. You’ll hear about the fears and challenges that threaten their dreams as well as the joy, courage and confidence that comes from following Jesus even in the unexpected…especially in the unexpected. I’m your host, Merritt Onsa, and my prayer is that this show will meet you where you are in your walk with God. I hope you will come away from the podcast each week with encouragement to begin pursuing your own dreams even when you still feel flawed, imperfect, unfinished and not ready. Because if you wait until you are perfect, you will never take the first step. Join us!”
7. Dad Tired
“Dad Tired is a community of men who are taking their faith, family, and marriage very seriously. We are equipping Christian husbands and dads to lead their family well. Past guests include; Bob Goff, The Bible Project, Jon Acuff, Jefferson Bethke, Paul David Tripp, John Mark Comer, Shane Claiborne, Tim Chester, Andy Crouch, and Jeff Vanderstelt.”
A weekly podcast for moms. A space to remember we are not alone in our experiences, be challenged to have joy among the chaos, remember grace covers guilt, and seek the truth of the gospel above all else. This is a podcast for the imperfect mother, still learning, still growing and still fully recognizing she doesn’t have it all together - but comes everyday, to the base of the cross, to seek the one who does.
“Inspiring women of all ages to pursue Christ-centered femininity, bestselling author Leslie Ludy speaks straightforwardly, giving biblical and practical advice on how to live as a godly woman amidst a self-seeking and shallow culture. With episodes on purity, purpose, devotional living, true beauty, Bible study, mentoring, leadership, friendships, romantic relationships, marriage, and family, this soul-stirring podcast will encourage you to surrender your life to the one true King and find true fulfillment and purpose in Him!”
“The "Glorious in the Mundane" podcast is hosted by Christian Artist and Worship Leader Christy Nockels. Offering conversations and interviews with some of your favorite artists, speakers and authors, the podcast is designed to inspire you right where you are today doing whatever it is you're doing.”
“Amanda shares the beautiful words of others every week, alternating between a narrated story and an interview with the author.”
12. The Purpose Show
Mom life: we’re surrounded with the message that it’s the tired life, the no-time-for-myself life, the HARD life. And while it is hard and full of lots of servitude, the idea that motherhood means a joy-less life is something I’m passionate about putting a stop to. I’m on a mission to help you stop counting down the minutes till bedtime (at least most days). I want you to stop cleaning up after your kids’ childhood, and start being present for it - start enjoying it. I believe in John 10:10, that we are called to abundant life, and I know mothers are NOT excluded from that promise. Join me in conversations about simplicity, minimalism, and lots of other good stuff that leads to a life of less for the sake of enjoying more in motherhood. I’m Allie Casazza, and this is The Purpose Show.
A podcast for those trying to navigate life as a young adult. Conversations consisting of adulting fails, pursuing passions, dreaming big dreams, and reminders that you're not alone as we try to live a life of purpose.
14. Good Good Talks
Good Good Talks is just a young 20-something's lousy excuse for good conversation with good people. This bi-weekly podcast is hosted by Stephanie Lynn, a wanna be blogger who loves good and honest conversation and believes that every story, no matter how small, matters.
“Conversations about Jesus, Holy Spirit, and God the Father to spur you on in your relationship with Him, and to bring God glory. We’re here to share real stories, struggles, and testimonies of the Unaltered Grace that God has lavished in our lives. We pray that these conversations Biblically inspire, equip and implore you to live every area of your life in light of the Gospel, and with your eyes fixed on Jesus.”
There’s my round-up! I’d love to hear your favorites in the comments below, or which Podcasts you’re most excited to listen to.
As always, in His Unaltered Grace, Rachel
